BELMONT STAKES  LIVE ODDS

The 148th running of the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes will be held at Belmont Park on Saturday, June 11, with first-race post at noon. ABC-TV and ESPN will provide live coverage of the day’s events.

The third leg of the racing world's famed Triple Crown is the Belmont - run in Belmont Park in Elmont, NY. The race course is 1 1/2-mile, 12 furlongs, and it is a sand track. The field of three year old champions race for a place in history and there is no handicap. The best horse will win.
How to Bet on Horses

Please call your bets in the following order: 1st - state the name of the Race track, 2nd - state the race number you wish to bet on, 3rd - state the dollar amount you wish to bet, 4th - state the type of wager, 5th - state the program number(s) of the horse(s) that you wish to bet. EXAMPLE: "Belmont Park, 4th race, $2 to win, on number 5" or "Santa Anita, 2nd race, $10 exacta box, numbers 1 &2,.

WIN, PLACE AND SHOW

Win: You win if your horse finishes first.
Place: You win if your horse finishes either first or second.
Show: You win if your horse finishes either first, second or third.

The odds commonly displayed on the Tote Board and on television monitors throughout
the track are the "win" odds. Here are the minimum payoffs on $2 win wagers:

Win Odds Minimum Payoff Win Odds Minimum Payoff
1-1 $4.00 6-1 $14.00
2-1 $6.00 8-1 $18.00
5-2 $7.00 10-1 $22.00
3-1 $8.00 12-1 $26.00
7-2 $9.00 15-1 $32.00
4-1 $10.00 20-1 $42.00
9-2 $11.00 50-1 $102.00
5-1 $12.00

The easiest bet to win is a show bet. If your selection finishes third or better,
you win. The Pick 6, requiring the bettor to select six consecutive winners in as
many races, or the Superfecta, requiring the bettor to select the correct 1-2-3-4
order of finish in a given race, are the most difficult. The higher the risk, the
greater the payoff.

EXACTA - All Races
To win an exacta, you must select the horses that finish first AND second on a single ticket. The two horses must finish in the exact order. Please note that this race is also called a "perfecta" at some racetracks. Example: Belmont, 3rd race, $2 exacta on #2-4

QUINELLA - Selected Races
To win a quinella wager you must pick the first and second place finishers in any order (if you play a 1-2 quinella, and the race finishes 1-2 OR 2-1, you are a winner, this bet is very similar to an exacta box, see below, but usually has a lower pay out.) Example: Belmont, 3rd race, $2 quinella on #1-2

TRIFECTA - Selected races
To win a trifecta, you must select the horses that finish first, second AND third in the exact order on a single ticket. Example: Belmont, 3rd race, $3 trifecta #1-4-5.

SUPERFECTA - Selected Races
To win a Superfecta, you must select the horses that finish first, second, third AND fourth in the exat order on a single ticket. Example: Pimlico, 9th race, $3superfecta #6-2-5-1

DAILY DOUBLE - Selected Races
To win a Daily Double, you must combine the winner of the first half with the winner of the second half of the Daily Double on a single ticket. This bet must be PURCHASED PRIOR TO THE FIRST DESIGNATED RACE OF THE DAILY DOUBLE. Example: Belmont, $2 Daily Double #4-8

PICK THREE - Selected Races
To win the PICK THREE, you must select the first horse in each of the three (3) designated PICK THREE races. If no one selects all three winners, a pay-out is made to those selecting the highest number of winners If no one selects a winner in any of the three (3) races the Association shall refund the entire pool. Example: Laurel, $2 Pick THREE 6-1-7 Please note this wager is also called the Daily Trifecta

PICK SIX - Selected Races
The Pick-6 is similar to the Pick-3 except that you must select the winning horse in six consecutive races on a single ticket. However, if no one selects all six winning horses from the designated races on a single ticket a portion of that days Pick-6 pool is distributed among the holders of tickets with the most winning selections on a single ticket. The remaining pool shall be "carried over" to the next racing day. The pool is continually carried-over until such time that someone does correctly select the six winning horses from the designated races on a single ticket. EXAMPLE: Belmont, $1 Pick-6, #1-2-3-4-5-6.

TWIN TRIFECTA - Races 3 & 5
Give your selections for the 1st half of the Twin Trifecta to a mutuel clerk. If you win the 1st half - EXCHANGE YOUR WINNING TICKET for wagers on the 2nd half of the Twin Trifecta. At this time, you will collect your share of the 50% pay-out.* If you win the 2nd half of the Twin Trifecta, simply cash your ticket(s) for your share of the pool. In order to the win the second half YOU MUST HAVE ALL THREE FINISHERS IN THE EXACT ORDER. If there are no winners, the remaining pool will "carry-over" to the next racing day.

EXACTA BOX
You can buy a two or more horse box for a base value from $2 to $250. Example: $2 exacta box on the 1-2-3 costs $12. To win an exacta, your selections must finish first and second in that order. By boxing two or more horses, if your selection crosses the wire in whatever order, you're a winner.

TRIFECTA BOX
You can buy a three or more horse box for a base value of $1 to $250. Example: $1 trifecta box on the 1-2-3 costs $6 and pays one half the regular $2 trifecta price that is displayed on the tote board. In a trifecta, your selections must finish first, second and third in that exact order. By boxing three or more horses, if three of your selections cross the wire first, second and third in whatever order, you are a winner.

TRIFECTA KEY ENTRY
If you think you have picked the winner in a trifecta race and wish to box other horses for second and third, then use THE TRIFECTA KEY ENTRY. The bet should be called as follows: Example - $1 key 1 with 2-3-4. The total cost of this bet is $6 and will cover the following winning combinations: 1-2-3, 1-2-4, 1-3-2, 1-3-4, 1-4-2 & 1-4-3. A "$1 four horse key entry" would cost $12. A "$1 five horse key entry" would cost $20. The examples given are for a $1 key.

TRIFECTA PART WHEEL
EXAMPLE #1: If you think the #1 horse will finish first and the #2 horse will finish second and you wish to play 3 other horses with this combination for third, you should ask for a "$1 [remember, the base price can go as high as $250] part wheel, 1 with 2 with 3-4-5" The cost of this bet would be $3, covering the following winning combinations: 1-2-3, 1-2-4 and 1-2-5. EXAMPLE #2: If you think the #1 horse will finish first and the #2, 3 or 4 horses will finish second , and #2,3,4,5 or 6 will finish third, you would ask for a "$1 part wheel, 1 with 2-3-4 with 2-3-4-5-6". The cost of this bet would be $12 and will cover 12 different combinations: 1-2-3, 1-2-4, 1-2-5, 1-2-6, 1-3-2, 1-3-4, 1-3-5, 1-3-6, 1-4-2, 1-4-3, 1-4-5 & 1-4-6.

TRIFECTA WHEEL
Represents a trifecta wager where pick 1 horse to finish in a designated position (first, second third) and combine the remaining horses in the field for the other two positions. EXAMPLE: "$1 trifecta wheel on 1-all-all." The total cost of this bet (assuming a 9 horse field) is $56.
