What Is Horse Racing?
Basically, horse racing is the sport of running horses at speed.
Horse racing is generally conducted with Thoroughbred horses with
a rider astride, or Standardbreds with the horse pulling a conveyance
with a driver.
For thousands of years, horse racing flourished as
the sport of kings and the nobility. Modern racing, however, exists primarily
because it is a major venue for legalized gambling. Horse racing
is also a major professional sport in Canada, Great Britain, Ireland,
Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and South America.

OW Many Different Types Of Horse Racing Is There?
There are many different types of horse racing. They range from
mounted games races, to pony racing ( popular form of horse
racing in the South of Ireland) to Quarter Horse and Arabian
Racing, to Paint Racing to Thoroughbred and Harness
Horse Racing. The most popular form of horse racing is Thorughbred
racing in which there are a number of different types of horse racing.
These may include racing on the flat, on turf or dirt, and national
hunt racing over steeplechases and hurdles.

Hurdle Racing?
Hurdle Racing in the sport of horse racing, is a horse race
conducted over a course on which a number of obstacles, called hurdles,
must be jumped. The fastest and most precise horse will win the
race. Hurdling races are often used for training horses that will later
compete in steeplechases.
What
Is Steeple Chasing?
Steeple chasing is a horse race similar to hurdling
but over a greater distance with larger fences to jump. The sport developed
from the English and Irish pastime of fox hunting, when hunters would
test the speed of their mounts during the cross-country chase. Organized steeplechase racing began about 1830, and has continued to be a
popular sport in England to this day.

1" simply means: $2 to win on #1, $2 to place on #1 and $2 to show
on #1 which will cost you $6 total. |

Pick the horses that come in first and second in a race
in order.
For example: "$2 Exacta 3 and 7." You WIN if #3 comes in first
and #7 comes in second. |
| Trifecta |
Pick the horses that come in first, second and third
in order.
For example: "$2 Trifecta 3-7-4." You WIN if #3 comes in first,
#7 comes in second and #4 comes in third. |
| Daily Double |
Your horses must finish first in each of the two races
comprising a Daily Double. Wagers must be made prior to the running
of the first of the two Daily Double races. |
| Pick3 |
Your horse must win each of the three races comprising
the Pick3. Wagers must be placed before the running of the first of
the Pick3 races. |
| CLASSIX |
Your horse must win each of the six races comprising
the CLASSIX®. Wagers must be placed before the running of the first
of the CLASSIX® races. If no ticket has all six winners, 25% of the
net pool will be paid to tickets with the greatest number of wins.
The other 75% of the pool will be carried over to the next racing
day. |
